Placing pressure on a paper with a hand - Ice Breakers & Group Team-building Tasks
Courtesy of Alf Grigg
Concern
- How can you achieve more by staying focused
Equipment
- A
piece of 8 ½" by 11" paper for every two participants
Process
The
participants are divided into partners. One partner holds up the paper stretched
between their hands at shoulder height. The other partner places the flat
of their hand on the paper applying pressure to tear or rip the paper. The
paper will not rip or tear because the energy is spread over the whole page.
The partner applying pressure then uses a forefinger and applies pressure
to the paper again. The paper tears and rips because the energy is focused
in a concentrated area. This exercise show that it is easier to achieve
the task or answer a problem if we stay focused on one thing at a time.
