Job Title: Summer Camp Supervisor

Location: 20 Portugal Square and/or 101 Spruce Street

Contract type: Seasonal – 10 weeks

Position Duration: Monday June 19th, 2017 - Friday August 25th, 2017

Hours/Wage: $14/hr. - 35 – 40 hrs. /week Reporting to: Children’s Services Coordinator

Job Description: • Take the lead role in developing and facilitating day camp schedule for 8 weeks of summer camp program (up to 8 hours per day) that will be diverse, creative, challenging, fun and memorable for campers aged 6 to 13 • Supervise and support staff working in 6-7, 8-10 and 11-13 age groups • Participate in aquatic activities on a daily basis. • Supervise activities and ensure the safety and inclusion of all participants • Provide guidance and support to camp volunteers and Leaders in Training assisting with program and working to enhance the healthy development of children and youth • Complete paperwork in a timely manner (program plans, program reports and evaluations and incident reports) • Maintain positive professional relationships with peers, campers, parents, community members and other Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Clubs patrons • Actively participate in one week of pre-camp training in June and one week of post camp evaluation in August • Adhere to Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Clubs Policies and Procedures and maintain a safe and healthy working environment

Minimum Qualifications: • Minimum 16 years of age • Experience working with Children 6-13 years of age • Experience supervising a team of three or more staff • Standard first aid qualifications (acquired before first day of training) • HIGHFIVE - Principles of Healthy Childhood Development Certificate • Must be able to participate in aquatic activities on a daily basis • Currently enrolled in an Academic Institution full time with intent to return in the Fall of 2017
