Collingwood pilot project for healthy snacks in recreation facilities
The Healthy Kids Community Challenge (HKCC) will be installing a new healthy vending machine, paid for by the HKCC, that offers healthy food options in a pilot project at a Collingwoood arena. HKCC co-ordinator Jennifer Parker said the refrigerated machine would offer perishable foods such as apples, oranges, yogurt and cheese, as well as packaged items that meet certain health requirements. Parker said they also want to encourage visitors to drink water by offering water refill stations and possibly selling water bottles.
