N.S. exhausts recreation centre cash

Description

Nova Scotia Health MInister Maureen MacDonald announced this week that, of the $68 million set aside in 2006 by the former Conservative government, only $4 million is left. It was intended that the original amount would last for 10 years. She said there was a pent-up demand for facilities because there had been so little investment in a long time. That coupled with the federal infrastucture money, has sped up the spending.

There are plans to commit the remaining money to two new projects in the next few weeks, but that will leave 13 other projects without funding.
