15th annual Great Backyard Bird Count - across Canada and the US
Held On
Feb 17, 2012 - Feb 20, 2012
Description
In the annual four-day Great Backyard Bird Count, bird watchers of all ages, from beginners to experts, count birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Count as long as you like or for as little as 15 minutes on one day. Participants tally the highest number of birds of each species seen together at any one time and report their counts online at the Great Backyard Bird Count website. It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds. Scientists use the counts, along with observations from other citizen-science projects, to give us an immense picture of our winter birds.
