Looking beyond the 'why' and 'how' discussion on the impact of recent municipal amalgamations, this panel turns its attention to examining the public outcomes of these amalgamations. How have residents been impacted by the rationalization of parks and recreation services in these larger civic administrations? What about the community organizations who partner with their local recreation department and may have experienced major changes in that relationship?
A senior manager from the city of Toronto offers his perspective. The amalgamation's unique features are discussed and tangible examples are presented on the impact of the amalgamation at the community level.
Presentation at the CPRA/AQLM 2003 Annual Conference.
