Community groups in Bordeaux-Cartierville, Québec were concerned with the growing vulnerability of multi-ethnic youth. To counter this challenge, multicultural experts were placed in schools to implement and maintain youth services, and enrich and diversify the school experience. The project motto: "Keep them busy before they keep us busy" responds to four critical areas:- Development and consolidation of after-school activities- Ongoing youth services throughout the summer- Ensuring continuity of students personal development between primary and secondary levels- Promoting parental involvement as a means to better social integration. Highly regarded by the Montréal School Board this project is the second largest to be sponsored by the Quebec Youth Fund’s community outreach program. Presentation at the 2003 CPRA Annual Conference.
