Description
This graduate certificate program enables students to gain the skills and knowledge required to successfully meet the leisure needs of the diverse older adult population. The program offers 700 hours of specialized learning and practical application over two terms.
The program relies on experts in the field to develop and lead courses. Classes in each course provide a strong theoretical foundation on which learners build through hands-on experiences in the community. All practical experiences are supervised by experts in the field while being supported by the college. Blackboard, the College's online network, will be used as a communication tool.
Over their year of study, students will progress from job shadowing to leading their own program. At the end of the program, each student will present an oral report of his or her program and develop a written account suitable for publication.
