Active Adults: A Proactive Health Care Approach for a Diverse Population
Presenters: Graham Thomson (Genesis Centre) and Evan Ward (Mosiac Primary Care Network)
This session looks at how a unique partnership between a facility with capacity in their non-prime space and a local Primary Care Network with a strong connection in the community grew out of circumstances common to the recreation sector. It explores the Mosaic Active Adults program at the Genesis Centre, a free program providing active pursuits and health screening to over 1,000 seniors, new Canadians and multi-generational families every week. The session is geared towards facility managers, programmers and those with a passion to get people moving.
