Canadian Sport for Life in the Municipal Context

Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L) is a national movement that seeks to improve the quality of sport and physical activity in Canada. The City of Kingston is lead partner in CS4L Kingston, which is receiving national attention for mobilizing the sport, recreation, health, and education sectors towards a collaborative strategy. Together, the partners are increasing opportunities for participation in play, physical activity and sport that integrate physical literacy concepts and lays a foundation for lifelong participation. This presentation looks at how the CS4L model can ensure a relevant and progressive agenda while uniting all aspects of municipal recreation in one vision and enhancing community collaboration, resources and funding.
