Collaborating for Success: Implementing the Active Alberta Policy

Alberta, Government
Lisa Tink

Active Alberta is a government-wide policy designed to contribute to the quality of life of Albertans. Approved by 11 Ministries, the policy identifies the importance of a coordinated approach when working towards increasing physical activity in diverse communities and environments across Alberta. As with most policies, however, implementation in practice is a crucial piece in determining its success. So while the Active Alberta Policy provides the province with a collective vision there is still a need to determine what can be done to work towards achieving the policy’s outcomes. This session shares what Tourism, Parks and Recreation is doing to advance the policy and discusses how ALL partners can continue to work toward mutual goals and collectively achieve the outcomes.
