In Deep Water: the Changing Face of Pool Use

Juanita Bueschleb

Co-presenters: Juanita Bueschleb, City of Brampton; Brian Connors, City of Woodstock; and Kathleen Grainger, Dovercourt Recreation Centre

The face of Ontario is changing. Across the province, pools are feeling the impact of emerging demographics, aging infrastructure, economic constraint and environmental concerns. While some aquatic centres struggle with reduced rentals, others are bursting at the seams with leagues and other users. In this session, a panel of presenters, whose communities have taken varied approaches to the shifts in how their facilities are being used, present their perspectives.

A presentation from the 2013 Parks and Recreation Ontario Educational Forum and Trade Show.
