Equal Rights to Equal Health: Moving Forward Together

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Recommendations for action identified at the Equal Rights to Health roundtable are detailed on the following pages. These recommendations form an agenda for the academic and philanthropic communities to undertake in support of reducing childhood obesity in low-income racial and ethnic minority communities. The basic premise of the recommendations is that relevant approaches should be framed from culturally appropriate perspectives, where cultural appropriateness is best achieved through maximum community involvement in program design, implementation and evaluation.Reproduced with permission of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Princeton, N.J.
