Girls and Women in Parasport – How to Make it Happen

This survey about girls and women with disabilities participating in sport in the twin Cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario, was designed to help KW Sport clubs, volunteer recruitment agencies, academics in recreation, sociology and sport, and municipal recreation managers understand the participation of girls and of women with disabilities in sport, the reasons they participate and volunteer, the benefits, supports and constraints they experience. While the survey sample size was small, this poster presents Discussion Points, Barriers, Supports for participation, Practical Implications, Benefits of Volunteering, Benefits of Participating, as well as Conclusions from the survey.
