iLeisure, consumer culture and the role of public recreation
It’s widely understood in academic circles that leisure’s expression has shifted to a consumer focus in the past fifteen years. This is evident by the obvious proliferation of market-based leisure, recreation and park options in our world. We live in an i-leisure world where identity, leisure pursuits and consumerism have become one and the same. What does this shift mean to our recreation and park infrastructure and delivery systems?
