This presentation looks at how the City of Hamilton is expanding affordable recreation opportunities in green spaces and parks. Supie, a free summer drop-in at city parks for ages 6 to 12 offers games, crafts, sports, special events and theme days. Various Fitness in the Park programs range from Tai Chi, Boot Camp, Stroller Fit to Flow into Meditation (Flow)! A QR Fitness Trail has signs displaying QR codes that pull up videos of an instructor leading exercises. Each option is helping to build community and increase access to affordable recreation and fitness. Learn from this team’s planning, budget, implementation, program assessment, safety guidelines, and sustainability efforts.
