Data is more than just numbers. When used wisely, data asks questions, tells stories and inspires action. Our Kids Network (OKN) has been using data to understand the “why, when, where and how” of helping children and families do well; recently, OKN launched a Data Portal that provides access to data about neighbourhoods in the Halton Region, and also invites users to overlay their own data to aid in decision-making. Shows how the OKN Data Portal is saving time and money while improving community wellbeing by informing recreation programming, emergency preparedness and financial assistance.

A presentation from the 2014 Parks and Recreation Ontario Educational Forum and Trade Show.
