Putting the Fun Into Child's Play

The article looks at how a child's playtime is structured to ensure their safety in a society and if we have taken it too far. It addresses issues such as making municipal and community facilities available during school hours, sharing facility use, etc. Makes the case for split shifts so that municipal recreation and school facilities could be in use all day, noting that if the load of participants were spread over a longer period of time, the demand and the cost for certain times would decrease. Fewer barriers would result in increased participation.
