For a decade, the annual Report Card on the Physical Activity of Children and Youth has sounded the alarm that Canada is not making the grade in promoting physical activity among children and youth. Drawing from a 2014 Active Healthy Kids Canada (AHKC) summit, panelists representing AHKC and partners such as HALO, Ophea and ParticipAction review research from 14 countries, highlighting surprising findings about where and why Canada is lagging behind. Presenters also outline the key indicators used in measuring physical activity levels, update information coming out of the summit and suggest innovative ways to reduce children's sedentary behaviour and support health and well-being.
