Co-Presenters: Steven Boyd and Leslie Charlton, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport
The Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund has contributed over $14 million towards 247 projects over two years. It’s now a leading funder for Ontario sport and recreation projects, particularly those aligning with the CS4L framework. This presentation looks at the fund’s granting priorities, which include increasing opportunities for participation, implementing physical literacy as the foundation for lifelong physical activity and building sector capacity. It profiles successful projects and highlights the importance of partnerships involving sport and recreation, municipalities, community clubs and related sectors such as education and health.
