Impact Of Program:

About 80 kids a session sign up. More kids are choosing golf as an activity and you will see more families playing together.

Evaluation Tools:

Feedback from Ken-Wo Golf Club and recreation department and participants.

Key Elements Towards Success:

The endeavor is an excellent opportunity to promote and grow the game of golf in Nova Scotia. This proposed partnership with Ken-Wo Golf Club would ultimately continue the tradition in developing junior golf in the area and the province. The 2 professional instructors are the only cost to the program. The Golf Club donates the use of the course and provides a gift package at the end of the course with a complimentary Club Membership.

Challenges To Meet Them:

This program is a beginners course. It was offered for primary to grade 8. It worked well for Primary to grade 6 but grades 7 and 8 needed a more advanced program. This program works best during spring and fall. Not during the busy summer season.

Length and Stage of Project:

This program began in 2007.
