Program Description

Champions in Motion youth fitness programs are for youth ages 9 - 13 and run for 4 weeks. Your youngster can choose from these two new exciting programs or do both if they want to:

* Fitness & Nutrition Club
* Walking Club

Our Champions in Motion programs are helpful in the following scenarios:

* Your child is overweight and participates in little physical activity at home

* Your child is not getting exercise at school unless he/she plays a sport

* Your child dislikes organized sports or group fitness programs. (Some kids may not like typical PE or sports, but still want to get in shape. Working one-on-one with a trainer can be a fun and safe environment for them to get fit and strong without feeling self-conscious.)

* You want your child to get in the habit of making exercise part of daily routine.
Champions in Motion Fitness & Nutrition Club consists of 2, one hour and fifteen minute sessions per week. Each session is divided into a fitness and nutrition component with correlating fun activities, handouts and homework sheets.

The fitness component includes: fun cardio drills, running, catching, sports games and other awesome fitness activities including body weight muscle strengthening (yes, it is okay for youth to strengthen their muscles when they are taught how to do so properly.)

The nutrition component includes: serving sizes, nutrition labels, good fats / bad fats, what's in a drink, Canada's Food Guide, menu planning and so much more.

Finally, your child will have a simple fitness assessment at the beginning and end of the program. He/She will be able to see, from these assessments, just how far they have come. This is a great motivation booster to keep going.

Champions in Motion Walking Club is a great way for youngsters to meet up with their friends during the summer and get in a some exercise at the same time. Sessions will run for 4 weeks on Mon., Wed. & Fri., from 11:30 to 12:15 and will feature a different challenge each week to keep the program fun. Youth will also receive information on good nutrition and receive mileage tokens for their hard work.

Our youth fitness programs are a wonderful way to get youth of all ages and abilities to consistently take part in a fun, challenging exercise sessions that will improve their self esteem, fitness level, and show them that fitness is fun!

Personal training is an invaluable service, especially for someone who is overweight and looking to lose weight and get healthy. But due to the gym-intimidation factor, many overweight people miss out on the opportunity to work one-on-one with an expert.
