Program Description

On Chedabucto Bay we call tobogganing coasting and the road down to Mussel Cove is a popular spot. Osprey Shores Peninsula is also another great spot looking out over the ocean. It also has a outdoor fire pit. This property is owned by the Osprey Shores Golf Resort and they allow public access to this land. Several times a year the Dept of recreation have community parties followed by hot chocolate and a fire. It’s a fun, curving ride down to the dock.

Strategies For Sustainability: 

This is a free event and advertise in the schools. It is planned when there will be good weather. The dept of recreation will buy extra equipment like magic carpets and donate them to the schools afterwards.

Impact Of Program: 

Around 30 people show up at this event and it has become part of the communities winter activities. Many of these activities were started during a "Take the Roof off Winter" and have become regular winter activities.

This is a fun event for the school population and families and relatives all come together.It is free and people can stay how ever long they wish.

This is a very easy event to plan. The only problem is if there is a sudden change in the weather.
