Program Description

Choose from 2 styles of parties.
Princess Party: Dress up as a magical princess ...45 min dance class hosted by our very own Fairy Godmother. Your princess and all her guests will learn to wave and curtsey just like real royalty and also learn a special birthday dance. The Birthday girl will also wear a very Special birthday Tiara that she gets to take home! Each guest receives a free trial class certificate to Coastal Dance.

The Diva Party: The guests arrive... let the Super-Star Treatment begin! Divas dress up with special Diva Bling! The divas in training learn a short Hip Hop Jazz routine and learn how to sign autographs like a pro. The Birthday girl gets a "DIVA for the Day" certificate and an autographed poster by all the famous divas at her Party. Each guest receives a free trial class certificate to Coastal Dance.

After the dance section of each Party , the fun continues in the front foyer where you can have cake and present time.

Strategies For Sustainability: 

Coastal Dance Theatre Society (CDTS) is a Dartmouth based, not-for-profit, youth performing companyOur mandate is to present to the community classically based works of high technical and artistic standards. CDTS provides an opportunity for aspiring young dancers to perform in a professional setting in both classical and contemporary works. CDTS offers young choreographers and local professional Artists the opportunity to present their works to the public in a full theatre setting.

Impact Of Program: 

This program is offered from 1-3 every Saturday afternoon and they are always booked. Also thousands of Nova Scotian school children have had their first taste of live dance in the beautiful Alderney Landing Theatre, through the “Concerts for Children” Series.

The discipline and dedication of both performers and choreographers is evident in the quality of dance CDTS has presented over the years

Challenges To Meet Them: 

to promote classical and contemporary dance as an accessible and enjoyable art form.
To that end, CDTS has made a special effort to reach out to schoolchildren, both at the primary and high school levels. Special school packages have been prepared and offered to participating schools to enhance the theatre experience.
