Kinetic Studio presents its annual celebration of gardens, art, and the art of gardening in Dance in the Garden. It's an unforgettable garden tour that offers glimpses of creative gardening together with original dance and music performances inspired by these settings of urban serenity.

contemporary dance – a stellar cast of dance performers have created works to complement a
The settings for these unique works of art are eight exceptional metro gardens crafted by
gardeners inspired by the art of the flower. Opening up their gardens to visitors will be gardening
artisans. Their gardens are s varied as their creators – all of them lovingly
crafted to create islands of tranquility and inspiration within the metro cityscape. Many of the dancers and choreographer are youth.
Kinetic Studio, a registered non-profit, charitable association, receives assistance from the
Canada Council for the Arts, the Department of Canadian Heritage, and the Nova Scotia
Department of Tourism, Culture, and Heritage. It is run by a volunteer board of directors, a series
administrator, and many dedicated volunteers.

Community partnership and support by the dance community are key to the success of this project.
This program has inspired young choreographers to work with teams of dancers in a very unique setting, beautiful urban gardens. Although a fund raiser project provides the opportunity for dancers of all dance forms to take this art form out into the community to people who might not attend a traditional dance show .
Feedback from dancers and the spectators about the projects has ensured it has become an annual event.
The combination of beautiful garden settings and dedicated dancers make this an exceptional unique experience.
