Dr John Wickwire’s Old Fashion Skating Party

Organization Sponsor: Dr. John C. Wickwire Academy

Program Description

Mother Nature's Winter gift! Perfect ice. This winter in spite of complex weather patterns has brought a few spectacular opportunities for winter fun. How about a soccer field, every square inch, turned into a rink.

The December 16th storm, although inconvenient for some, created this wonderful outdoor skating rink on the Wickwire playing field. For the first time ever, the Wickwire students were able to enjoy a noon recess skate today (Dec 19th).  What fun!

This winter has been characterized by 30 mm of rain fallowed by deep freeze temperature. The students of Dr.John Wickwire Academy arrived at school one frosty morning to see their soccer field turned into a rink of flawless thick, clear, rainwater ice. It didn't take long before the teachers, parents and community members to turn this into a skating party.

The school already had a a skate exchange program in effect and within a few days every student in the school participated in this skating extravaganza
