Program Description

Looking for some free fun activities for the children this summer ? Various library branches through out the city offer free course to children and youth. Circus Yoga,Juggling Extravaganza!,Simply Clowning ,Yoga for Teens to name a few. Course selection vary at the branches.

In 2006 the library embarked on an ambitious new strategic plan and vision... to become the hub that strengthens individuals, families and neighborhoods by connecting them to people and to relevant information, collections programs and resources. This vision also hopes the library will contribute significantly to London's cultural, social and economic development. Among the many changes the physical and virtual spaces were redesigned and 200,000 people attended library programs.

City of London, Provincial and Federal Government as well as library revenues.

Strategies For Sustainability: 

This library system is dedicated to becoming the hub of community life. They have updated in all aspects to be relevant to community needs.

Impact Of Program: 

Over 17,000 children attended the 288 summer programs this year.

Evaluation Tools: 

Program evaluations and statistics are kept.

Key Elements Towards Success: 

Offering programs for free as well as choosing themes that attract the general population.

Challenges To Meet Them: 

The library dramatically changed itself to meet the community needs. Attracting the community to experience the new changes was a challenge.

These new changes began in 2006.
