Halloween Howl School Gym Program

Organization Sponsor: École Taché School

Program Description

4 classes came to the gym at once. I had 12 Halloween themed physical activity stations. The 4 classes were divided into 12 groups. Each group rotated to each of the 12 stations every five minutes for 1 hour of activity time. My grade 6 students acted as station leaders.

In terms of equipment, I used equipment from my storage room (balls, cones, scooters, mats, etc.) I used some specialized Halloween equipment (pumpkins, skeletons, ghosts, special lighting,) and had decorated all 4 gym walls with ghosts, witches, cauldrons, bats, etc. I played scary music while the kids participated at the stations. I used my gym as my main activity area. I had three groups of students (K-1, 2-3, 4-5) As previously stated my grade 6 students were leaders. The activity was spread out through one day; two sessions were held in the morning and one session in the afternoon. The late afternoon sessions was designated as a clean-up session.
