Program Description

On March 3rd, 2006, students from Bayview Community School in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia celebrated their outdoor club, outdoor curling rink, and the great outdoors with staff from Go for Green and Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection. This winter, Selena Davidson, a physical education teacher and students from Bayview school started an outdoor club to promote outdoor active living and fun throughout the winter season.

Offer a variety and new types of activities to engage the interest of the students.

The school and community were involved in designing, building and participating in the activities.

"We've had amazing community support and great feedback from the students," said Ms. Davidson. "Our philosophy has been to start small and work towards bigger goals to keep everyone active this winter."
