Forest and the Femme (FATF) is a non-profit outdoor recreation program for highly marginalized women living in Vancouver’s DTES community. We provide access to nature for the city’s most vulnerable and isolated women. Our goal is to facilitate a sense of freedom, empowerment and self worth through contact with nature, skill building and social engagement.

The Town Georgina in partnership with Jericho Youth Services is pleased to celebrate National Youth Week 2015, (May 1 -7, 2015). We will be offering a variety of recreational and sport activities for the youth of Georgina to participate and enjoy at no or minimal cost. May 1- The youth week festivities begin May 1 at the Georgina Ice Palace with the Jericho Youth Services Youth Dance. Youth ages 9-13 will be able to boogie to the beat and celebrate the start of National Youth Week.

The MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition… Do It!) Program is a community intervention aimed to empower families of overweight and obese children to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles. This program combines all the elements known to be important when treating and preventing overweight and obesity in children, including family involvement, behaviour change, practical education in nutrition, and increasing physical activity. MEND is not a diet, nor is designed for rapid weight loss.

Family, Fun, and Fit provides an opportunity for physical exercise and recreational activities that participants may otherwise be unable to afford, or are unable to access due to language barriers or unfamiliarity with the community. Family, Fun, and Fit strives to support families that are in transition and who may be recovering from past experiences of torture and trauma by promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging family participation.

BUILDING INCREDIBLE BABIES (BIB) is a postnatal group that is was developed with the new mother in mind. Build confidence in your ability to parent and have fun while you are at it. We meet as a group and discuss a variety of parenting issues covering topics that you want to talk about.

CHANCES (Caring, Helping, And Nurturing, Children Every Step) exists to provide a range of child development and parent support services to children from 0-11 years and their families, particularly those experiencing additional life challenges. In the provision of a range of comprehensive programs and services. CHANCES Inc. exists to contribute to the wellbeing of children from 0-11 years and their families, particularly those experiencing additional life challenges.

The Canadian Curling Association Rocks & Rings program is designed to introduce the Olympic sport of curling to elementary school children. By bringing the curling rink to the school gym we reach children that would otherwise not have access to the roaring game.

Mobilized FreeWheelers version 1.0 was an elaboration on our core Build-A-Bike program. The project explored the need for more community-based and locally specific knowledge of cycling and transportation access, based on experiences of young people living in marginalized communities in Toronto.
