5.07 Builds pride in community

Looking for some cool family fun? Skating sessions at Cloverdale Arena from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4. “Arena will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with an old-fashioned pond. This is an event the whole family can enjoy!”

As is Christmas tradition the Cloverdale Arena will be transformed into the Winter Ice Palace over the winter school break. This is a very popular event that the whole family can enjoy. 

The Clare Recreation Department offers a monthly calendar of physical activities for youth, such as swimming and skating. Activities take place on Mondays from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. A leader is hired one day per week in each elementary school to offer physical activity programming for students in grades 4 to 6 from 2:15 to 5:00 p.m.

Students at Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School (CCVS) got into the Olympic spirit February 13 as the school hosted a qualifier for the Ontario Special Olympics Four Corners Provincial Championships in bocce ball.The event was hosted by CCVS to give special needs students at the school the chance to enjoy an athletic tradition they had experienced at the former Kinsmen Vincent Massey School.The tournament also fit in with the board’s philosophy of inclusive educational

Progress in the Park is a new community development project created and managed by Paige Farah. The project is based on the goal to empower the residents of Mulgrave Park, a public housing neighbourhood in the North End of Halifax home to over 250 families, by engaging them in projects that will directly benefit them and their community.

These games are called Dene Games and they had a very significant importance in the life and ultimately the survival of the Dene People.

The Arctic Winter Games is a high profile circumpolar sport competition for northern and arctic athletes. The Games provide an opportunity to strengthen sport development in the participants’ jurisdictions, to promote the benefits of sport, to build partnerships, and to promote culture and values. The Games celebrate sport, social exchange and cultures.

Not Far From The Tree is coming to the neighbourhood! This great community organization puts Toronto's fruit to good use by picking and sharing the bounty. Now they're expanding their fruit picking program to the Agincourt neighbourhood in partnership with Agincourt Community Services Association.
